About

Fostering - This opportunity is virtual and occurs in the foster/volunteers home

Our fosters are a extremely important part of Purrfect Angels Cat Rescue! Without our fosters we are unable to save more cats and kittens from our local shelters, help those who are found homeless due to no fault of their own and those who can no longer be cared for due to circumstances. For every cat or kitten entering foster care lives are saved. The rescue provides all medical care for the foster animals; the foster parent provides food, water, cat litter, a safe and clean environment and lots of love!

What are a few responsibilities foster parents may have? It depends on you as a foster parent but we are always in need of foster parents who can:

  • Care for kittens until they are old enough for adoption.

It is very difficult for young animals to survive in a shelter environment so we try to rescue as many as possible and place them in a foster home which is a much more ideal situation for them until they are ready for adoption.

  • It allows cats and kittens to not be kept in a cage

There are so many animals that spend months in a cage at shelters before being adopted that here at Purrfect Angels Cat Rescue we ask that our fosters allow our cats and kittens to be free to roam allowing them to get used to a home environment and interact with family members and other household animals if appropriate.

  • Foster a special needs animal.

Special needs animals/pets require extra attention and care due to medical reasons (such as medication), traumatized pasts or other difficulties. While this doesn’t happen all that often it does happen from time to time.

  • Foster a sick cat or kitten that is undergoing veterinarian treatment.

We all know how awful it is to be sick and not have anyone to care for you or bring you some special items. Our cats and kittens feel the same way and if would be wonderful and gracious if a foster parent was willing to take them, care for them, make them feel special and extra loved.

  • Foster a cat or kitten when they have been at adoption center for an extended period of time or when shelter animals are out of time.

There are times when one of our rescued cats or kittens needs a break from being at the adoption center and needs to get a break. So we set them up in a foster home for a period of time to relax, stretch and get a break. There are many times when Purrfect Angels Cat Rescue will go to local shelters and rescue cats or kittens who are out of time because cage space at shelters are limited and they become overwhelmed with animals.

So we ask you to please consider opening your heart and home to one cat or kitten or a few to help us out and save more lives. We can not care for or rescue any cats or kittens we do not have the room for. Any amount of fostering time period is greatly appreciated.

All those applying to be a foster must be 21 years of age or older.

Volunteering -

Volunteers make an enormous difference in the lives of our rescues. There are many ways you can help Purrfect Angels Cat Rescue! Volunteers range in ages from 18years old until to past the age of retirement and beyond. This helps our animals in and out of our foster care and PetValu location.

WAYS YOU CAN HELP!

There are many ways YOU can help the animals in our rescue. Hands on way, volunteering at our current PetValu location in Glassboro by spending time and taking care of our cats (playing with, feeding, cleaning cages and more). Transporting to vet visits, transporting to adoption events, speaking to potential adopters about our cats at PetValu and in foster homes and our rescue. There are other ways to help as well such as advertising, fundraising, coordinate events and programs.

PetValu Adoption Center - Glassboro

We currently have cats and kittens at PetValu in Glassboro. Volunteers are always needed for morning, evening and weekend shifts. You can do one shift or several it is solely up to you and the time you have available to spend with our adoptable cats and kittens. Each shift is usually a minimum of 30 minutes to an hour or more depending on how much time it takes to clean the cages, refill the food and water and the amount of time you want to spend socializing with our cats and kittens.

Fundraisers and donations

We are always looking for volunteers who are willing to come up with fundraiser and donation ideas as well as participate in special events to help raise money and donations for our rescue.
