RISE Center

Volunteer at the RISE Center! Reaching It Successfully Every time!

Pick Monday-Friday from 8am- 5pm. Determine your time commitment: come for a few hours or stay all day! Volunteers must be 18 or older. College students and retired citizens are always welcome!

RISE stands for Reaching It Successfully Every time. Come channel your "inner teacher" and "life coach". Help low income individuals complete job applications, write resumes, and with completing school work. Volunteers monitoring the lab will help with job seeking skills, tutoring, and/or teaching basic computer skills. You only need basic computer skills and a compassionate heart to be a part of the excitement! Come help adults who are trying to help themselves out of poverty! The RISE Center is available to Royal View Manor residents and Des Moines Housing Family Self-Sufficiency participants.

Can you ever have too many warm fuzzy moments? Come to the RISE Center and donate your talents and time. Close to downtown, you will have your own desk area. You can also "shout out" your agency/business with fliers and brochures for the center. If time is not on your side, donate funds for the cost of paper and other office supplies this educational and employment center constantly needs. If you’re ready to sign up to help, contact Sydney at sbptersen@dmgov.org or by phone 515-323-8982.
