What is Host Visitation?

Nearly 600 children in foster care in Westchester County desperately need to stay connected to their families of origin.

For families who have children placed in foster care, frequent and on going contact with one another is critical. Visiting reduces the trauma that children experience by being separated and increases their chances of living in a forever home.

How Can I Help?

What is required?

Volunteers must:

. Be at least 21 years of age

. Be willing to commit to 21 hours of training plus ongoing supervision

. Consent to Child Abuse Registry and a Criminal History search

. Commit to one year of volunteerism

. Be able to help a family a few hours each week

. Bilingual and/or persons of color are encouraged to get involved
