Visitors get to see different birds up-close in the Aviary.

Volunteer in the beautiful walk-through Aviary at CuriOdyssey in San Mateo: interpreting wildlife, assisting visitors, recording bird observations, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Current opening: WEDNESDAYS, 9am-1pm (for at least 3 months), starting in mid-July.

Trained and supervised by our professional Animal Keepers, Aviary Aides spend one hour cleaning the Aviary and then the rest of their weekly shift as an interpretive guide engaging with visitors and helping them observe and learn more about the birds and turtles in the Aviary.

At CuriOdyssey, we are known for our curiosity inspiring interactive science exhibits along with our wildlife exhibits housing over 50 non-releasable animals native to California. The Aviary residents include herons, ducks, magpies, pigeons, turtles and burrowing owls.
