Join NYC's Empire Dragon Boat Team and the Guardians of Flushing Bay for Jennifer's Annual Flushing Bay Shoreline Cleanup on Saturday, May 6th. Get out there to clean up, experience paddling in their dragon boat, learn about green infrastructure initiatives designed to restore our waterways and continue the legacy spearheaded by one of their founders, Jennifer Merendino.

DIRECTIONS:

World's Fair Marina is easily searchable on Google Maps. Many car GPS units don't have World's Fair Marina as a destination, but we instruct users to simply enter "Citi Field" as their destination. Once at Citi Field, head under the underpass towards the water and you are there.

Because we don't know where people are coming from, we typically give general vehicle directions as follows:

World's Fair Marina is located off of many major highways:

  • 13D off the Whitestone Expressway
  • 13 off the Northbound Van Wyck Expressway
  • 9E off of the Grand Central Parkway

Once off the highway follow the signs for "Marina." We are located right next to the water, adjacent to Citi Field. If you find yourself at Citi Field, just head under the underpass and we are located right next to the water. Parking is available in Parking Lot B.

For public transit users:

Take the #7 line to Mets-Willets Point. From there proceed towards Citi Field. Walk through Citi Field's parking lot leaving the stadium on your right hand side. Once the stadium is behind you, go across the street and under the underpass towards the water. World's Fair Marina is directly ahead.

The street address is:

World's Fair Marina

125-00 Northern Blvd.

Flushing, NY 11368

Volunteers should meet by the candelas near the boat launch and parking lots are located at the opposite end of the pier. We ask all Sweep volunteers to wear sturdy shoes or boots, clothing that they can get dirty, and to bring a hat, sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, and snacks. This site is suitable for elementary-aged children with proper adult supervision.
