The Electro Acoustic Band with Amy X Neuburg
They Will Have Been So Beautiful, Cal Performances, Zellerbach Playhouse, December 2014

The Paul Dresher Ensemble is nationally known for its cutting edge performances of contemporary music theater (Slow Fire, Sound Stage, Schick Machine, and many others) and its pathbreaking concerts of electro-acoustic chamber music. Each year we premiere new music and contemporary theatre works in San Francisco and on tour across the US and abroad. We present hands-on experimental installations of huge invented instruments, offer extended studio residencies to talented Bay Area artists, and provide local experimental arts organizations with equipment, fiscal sponsorships, and consulting services.

Now expanding our organization, we invite you to consider volunteering with us by volunteering at concerts, marketing our performances on line or in print, designing and organizing fundraising events, or joining our six-person Board of Directors.

You can volunteer as many hours as is convenient, either at our Oakland rehearsal studio/office near the foor of the Bay Bridge or our performing venue in San Francisco, Z Space in the Mission.

We have two sets of concerts coming up: in late June, two evenings of chamber music sung by Amy X Neuberg and accompanied by photographs of contemporary America; and in late September, three performances of Schick Machine (Photo below), a remarkable music-theater work performed by percussion soloist Steven Schick on a set filled with huge, invented musical instruments. We hope you can join us!

Although we need help with marketing, web design, finance, law, and arts management, we are most interested in finding volunteers who have a genuine curiosity about the contemporary performing arts and, of course, our work. For the latter, please www.dresherensemble.org.
