Bucks County Opportunity Council Volunteers for Hope of the Harvest Charitable Garden
On the grounds of Delaware Valley University, fruits and vegetables are being planted and harvested to feed our friends and neighbors in need. Community partners have collaborated provide Bucks County food pantries with locally grown, healthy produce to supplement the non-perishable goods they distribute.
The Bucks County Opportunity Council coordinates volunteers for the garden each year. Hundreds of BCOC volunteers have spent thousands of hours hours in the garden since 2013- and we'll need more volunteers in 2022 to stake, sow, seed, weed and package produce in the garden. Groups are welcome!

Mission Statement
To help low-income people in Bucks County achieve and maintain economic self-sufficiency.
Description
Bucks County Opportunity Council, Inc. is a non-profit Community Action Agency established in 1965. Our mission is to help low-income people in Bucks County achieve and maintain economic self-sufficiency. We provide a broad range of self-sufficiency, emergency and preventative, free tax preparation, financial literacy and asset development, food assistance and weatherization services. Our services are based on the principle that empowering people with the education, training, resources and skills necessary to permanently leave poverty is far more beneficial than helping them cope in poverty. We work closely with human services organizations, faith-based organizations and others to address local needs and issues affecting low-income individuals and families.
