Help support art education in Columbia County, by volunteering for ASCC's 5th annual Frame, Art Supplies & Canvas Sale. Help us by participating in this environmentally-friendly approach to getting art supplies to our community, while supporting ASCC. Volunteers to help with publicity, and sort and price art supply and frame donations in August and early September appreciated, and volunteers to help the weekend of the sale welcome. This event is a unique and fun way to "up-cycle" art supplies back into the community and is an essential fundraiser for the Art School, to enable us to teach free K-12 art programs throughout our region, host art lectures and exhibits, and offer fine art classes well below cost, plus a scholarship program. We welcome those who enjoy giving back and helping others. Learn more on our website.

Description

The Art School of Columbia County brings the gift of art to our community. Our programs are accessible to persons of all ages, abilities and means. For children, ASCC teaches free word-and-image based "Art in the Library" programs in rural libraries and schools throughout Columbia County and the surrounding region, promoting literacy & creativity by creating word-inspired artwork. ASCC's "Art & Memories" programs bring art to seniors in need, including those with Alzheimer’s or other cognitive issues. Classes are offered in Harlemville in ASCC’s restored 1880 schoolhouse for adults & older teens. ARTalks provide a theoretical component to ASCC’s offerings, featuring pop-up exhibits and panel discussions among regional artists. ASCC’s programs are accessible to persons of all ages, abilities and means & art students have ranged from pre-K children to adults in their 90s & above. A scholarship program funds up to 90% of tuition based on need. ASCC serves over 1800 people annually.
