Global Potential (GP) transforms youth from underserved communities through education, service learning and cultural exchange into globally competitive leaders of positive change in their lives and communities. GP is a 16.5-month transformative after-school and summer program that works with 500 youth a year in New York City. The GP program includes 14.5 months of workshops locally and 1.5 months of international service learning and cultural exchange in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Nicaragua.
Major Objective: Administrative HR support to HR function to ensure the best level of service for our staff and applicants.
Reports to: CEO
Responsibilities:
Handling day-to-day administration related to incoming and exiting staff (filing and organizing paperwork, coordinating schedules etc.)
Scheduling and coordinating interviews with candidates
Phone screening with applicants
Posting ads on various recruitment sites
Administering HR workflow, including document control and document management, maintaining Google Documents (GP’s electronic filing system)
Maintaining and updating our staff database (Salesforce)
Responsible for researching and purchasing of Insurance and Flights for GP’s international program
Managing GP’s general liability and worker's compensation
Performing general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing
Skills and qualifications:
College or a bachelor's degree and/or experience, preferably in Human Resources
Strong organizational and communication skills (both written and oral)
Ability to work independently and creatively, as well as part of a team
Experience with ATS and/or HRIS is a plus
Knowledge of MS Office suite, both PC and Mac savvy
Knowledge of Salesforce and Google suite (gmail, calendar, Google Drive) is a plus
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, enthusiastic personality
Ability to multi-task
Other requirements:
High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information
Passionate about youth from underserved communities and commitment to GP’s mission, interest in working with non-profit or in international development
Have to be able to commit at least 10 to 15 hours per week, ideally 3 days in a week
Available to come into the office, during the week, during office hours
