PAWS 2 PAHS volunteers are human and canine (or feline)-teams of people with their animals. Palo Alto Humane Society (PAHS) is sending out a call for these volunteers to join our growing humane education and community outreach efforts to teach people of all ages about animal care, rescue, animal-related community issues, or simply the focus on the enjoyment of sharing our lives with companion animals. We need more "teams" with friendly, non-aggressive dogs (and cats and rabbits and others) who enjoy meeting people of all ages. PAWS 2 PAHS teams interact with chidren of all ages in classroom or after-school settings (including school clubs, camps, and groups such as the Scouts). They also meet older students at high school or university events and enjoy visiting with seniors at local assisted living or senior residents and other adults at community events. Please contact Leonor at PAHS at (650) 424-1901 or leonor.delgado@paloaltohumane.org to learn more about this wonderful volunteer opportunity! Thanks!

Mission Statement

The mission of Palo Alto Humane Society (PAHS) is to alleviate the suffering of animals, increase public sensitivity to animal issues, and elevate the status of animals in our society through innovative programs in intervention, education and advocacy. With the goal of creating a more humane planet, PAHS empowers people to make humane choices and take action on behalf of the animals.

Description

Palo Alto Humane Society(PAHS) is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter.

We educate, advocate, and intervene whenever humane expertise is needed throughout the mid-Peninsula community.

Our Gift Shop is a great place to browse and shop - all proceeds directly support our programs assisting cats, dogs, rabbits, horses, birds, etc.
