ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP:

The Lucas Artists Residency Program at Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga, California, seeks a Curatorial Assistant Intern to work on various exhibition-related projects.

Projects will include curatorial and administrative support for the planning of the Art on the Grounds exhibition and festival, shaping content for Lucas Artists Program’s Open Access blog; supporting the development of a collections database; and generating a physical and digital archive of program documentation (photographs, video, press coverage, collateral, and other material) by Lucas Artists Programs and Lucas Artists Fellows.

REQUIREMENTS:

We require a minimum 3 to 6 month commitment for this position, and at least 10-15 hours per week. This is an unpaid intern/volunteer position. The position requires excellent critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and interest in and knowledge of archival methods. This is an opportunity to work with the curatorial team at an internationally-recognized artist residency program. We hope to find a talented individual who will work with our dedicated team as we support up to 60 artists a year from all over the world.
