Volunteers are needed to help with filing and document translation in the office for a few hours each week Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
Translations are a crucial aspect of the work we do in providing high quality legal representation to our clients. Documents may include statements of support, statements describing familial relationships, narratives describing abuse, witness statements, and birth, death, and marriage certificates. Please be advised that some statements will contain personal and potentially distressing content. Strict confidentiality is required of this position to protect the privacy and interests of our clients. This position is best suited for mature volunteers who are reliable, have good attention to detail, and are comfortable working with computers. All volunteers must pass a background check prior to serving.
This is an excellent opportunity for volunteers interested in learning more about immigration issues; for those wishing to gain professional translation experience; or for those wishing to use their language and computer skills to help immigrants and refugees in our community.
Please visit http://dmrs-ep.org/get-involved/volunteer/ to download a copy of our volunteer application and send completed applications to rgreen@dmrs-ep.org.
