Volunteers can expect to:
- Clean, sanitize, and organize inside and outside cages and enclosures
- Prepare liquid and solid diets for patients
- Use varying methods including syringe, tube, and gavage feeding baby birds and small mammals
- Observe and record any abnormalities or changes in patients to staff
- Develop and create enrichment to build life skills for young animals
- Follow all proper protocol for different species and situations
Currently, we need volunteers for morning and evening shifts everyday and the shifts are 8am-10am and 6pm-8pm. We ask that volunteers commit to one shift a week for at least 4 months.
