Newark Parks Foundation is in need of a Recruiter to help with Board Development. We have an open position on our Board, and we'd like to fill that position with local residents from the Newark community.
Board members serve short terms, and so this is an ongoing position, though our immediate goal is to fill one position. You can learn more about the Board here: http://newarkparks.org/our-team/.
It's ideal that your be local to the Tri-City area, but a remote Recruiter that's LinkedIn savvy could work, handing off potential leads to the Executive Director. Newark Parks Foundation mobilizes financial and community support to deliver thriving, accessible, supported, and varied parks, open spaces, and recreational opportunities for a healthy and united Newark.
Description
Newark Parks Foundation will support new and existing parks, open spaces, and recreation in and around Newark, California, for the enjoyment and benefit of the citizens of Newark. The Foundation will do so by:
- Organizing volunteers to build and/or maintain parks and park amenities/structures.
- Organizing user groups to identify the community’s unmet recreational needs.
- Applying for grants to support the Foundation’s capital projects and, as needed, right-of-way leases.
- Identifying partnerships between surrounding cities and park districts.
- Publishing articles to generate public support for parks and to educate the general public on the state of parks and recreation.
- Sponsoring/organizing park support events, including trash pickup events.
