The National Canal Museum (NCM), an affiliate of the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor is searching for volunteers to serve as docents. Docents do not have to have experience giving museum tours but should be interested in the transportation and industrial history of the region, enjoy talking with the public, and should enjoy learning new things!
Docents can choose from working in the NCM gift shop, greeting visitors and/or providing tours of the museum to visitors.
- The National Canal Museum is open Wednesdays through Sundays. Museum hours are 11:30 am - 4:30 pm on each day it is open from April to December.
Training is provided. Background checks required but are free.

The Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that preserves historic pathways that carried coal and iron from Wilkes-Barre to Philadelphia. Today, the D&L Trail and the National Canal Museum connect people to nature, culture, communities, recreation and our industrial heritage.
The Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor (D&L) is working to connect th 165-mile D&L Trail through 5 Pennsylvania counties, (Carbon, Luzerne, Northampton, Lehigh and Bucks) by 2020. The D&L also manages the National Canal Museum in Easton, home of PA's only mule-drawn canal boat ride.
