Pedal for the Puzzle, Family Festival and Bike Ride for Autism

Pedal for the Puzzle is an annual charity festival and bike ride that brings people together to raise funds and awareness for autism. This all‐day family event includes three bike routes (10, 25, and 50 miles), a healthy gourmet lunch, children’s activities such as a children’s bike rodeo, a tricky tray and prize segment, music, wine tasting, delicious desserts, and more. By riding for the cause, we show outward support for people with autism and their families.

Autism represents a spectrum of neurodevelopmental disorders (ASDs) characterized by mild to severe impairment in social interaction, communication, and behavior. The condition affects 1 in 68 children nationwide and 1 in 45 children in New Jersey, which has the nation’s highest rate of autism. The causes of autism are not clear and it is not curable, but children with ASDs benefit greatly from early diagnosis and treatment.

One‐hundred percent of the proceeds from Pedal for the Puzzle go to New Jersey's autism community, specifically the Somerset Hills Learning Institute and Autism New Jersey. These two incredible nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to helping individuals with autism and their families.

The event runs from 7:30 am to 3 pm, but volunteers do not necessarily have to be present for the entire event. We need morning (6:30 am‐11 am) and afternoon (11 am‐4:30 pm) volunteers. If anyone can stay for the entirety of the event, we would greatly appreciate it!

Volunteers arriving before the event to help set‐up will be permitted to park at the event site: Somerset Hills Learning Institute at 1810 Burnt Mills Rd in Bedminster, NJ. Volunteers arriving after 11 am will park at the Bedminster One parking lot off Burnt Mills Rd/CR620, Bedminster, NJ and take a shuttle service to the event site.
