ORGANIZATION: Minds Matter Southern California

Do you have experience writing organizational newsletters? Are you interested in helping some bright, motivated high school students from low-income families achieve their dream of a college education?

Minds Matter of Los Angeles is looking for an accomplished writer/marketing volunteer to own our newsletter. We issue 4 to 5 newsletters a year. Volunteer would need to be comfortable with some basic HTML skills as we use the Mailchimp system for the creation of our newsletters. In this role, you would interact with all groups of the Minds Matter program. You would set direction for each newsletter in partnership with the Head of Marketing and the President, then complete the gathering and writing of all materials. You would be partnered with other marketing volunteers as part of a dynamic team supporting the organization. Interested person should be able to commit on average 2 to 3 hours per week though work will be more project based.

Minds Matter supports students in their sophomore, junior, and senior year. Our program offers a unique combination of mentoring support, group instruction, and social-emotional learning. We provide students with the resources and guidance needed to gain admission, enroll, and succeed at rigorous four-year colleges. Support continues during college with internships, professional skills-building, and access to our alumni platform.
