People Against Domestic & Sexual Abuse (PADA) has been serving Jefferson County, WI since 1978. Help victims of sexual assault in your community by responding to after-hours Sexual Assault Nurse Examinations (SANE) at Fort Hospital. You will provide essential support and connect the victim to advocacy (People Against Domestic and Sexual Abuse)! Each year, on-call advocates respond to approximately 20-30 sexual assaults at Fort Hospital. Make a huge difference in this community by supporting sexual assault victims!
As a volunteer on-call advocate, you will choose at least 3 days per month where you are able to provide after-hours, on-call coverage in the event of a sexual assault examination at the Fort Hospital. At the SANE exam, you provide support to the victim by demonstrating empathy, compassion, and strength. You will also refer the victim to our local domestic and sexual violence agency, PADA, for follow-up support.
Studies show that a supportive advocate during the sexual assault examination means a better outcome for that victim. Make a difference and join PADA!
Criminal background check required (having a criminal history does not automatically disqualify you). Approximately 8 hours of training with our advocates is required. You must have a reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance.
