ORGANIZATION: Mothers Against Drunk Driving - Southeast Texas

  • 19 people are interested

We are seeking individuals, and couples that would go to pre-appointed groups of people and speak about MADD, drunk driving statistics, and ways that we serve the Southeast Texas region covering 10 counties. Past drunk driving victims, their friends, or surviving families are especially encouraged to volunteer. Some past offenders are also great volunteers in this request. These speaking engagements will be with civic organizations, health and volunteer fairs, violent crime coalitions, churches, schools, and various invitations that MADD receives and many times has to decline because no one is available to go and speak.

Please complete the MADD volunteer application on our website at www.madd.org.

Mission Statement

The mission of Mothers Against Drunk Driving is to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime, and prevent underage drinking.

Description

Mothers Against Drunk Driving - Southeast Texas Affiliate, is currently working on projects to raise awareness on the services it provides. MADD is the largest free victims services organization in the country. MADD also works tirelessly to prevent underage drinking through its varied school-based programs.

Harris county is the deadliest county in the United States when it comes to traffic fatalities where alcohol is involved. In short, more people lose their lives in our community to drunk drivers than in any other community across the nation.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving depends on the support of our citizens and community leaders to help us in our efforts to eradicate drunk driving.
