Newark Parks Foundation is currently looking for an Executive Director to replace the current director as she's fulfilled her goal of setting up the Board, incorporation, strategic planning, launching programs & projects and organization's website.

Acting director would move into a Development Director role to focus on the financial needs of the Foundation, working alongside the Executive Director.

If you have experience leading and growing an organization, let's chat! Director must be local, share the organization's mission, and have strong references. Newark Parks Foundation is a new nonprofit, and so there's a lot of room to create.

Newark Parks Foundation mobilizes financial and community support to deliver thriving, accessible, supported, and varied parks, open spaces, and recreational opportunities for a healthy and united Newark.

Description

Newark Parks Foundation will support new and existing parks, open spaces, and recreation in and around Newark, California, for the enjoyment and benefit of the citizens of Newark. The Foundation will do so by:

  • Organizing volunteers to build and/or maintain parks and park amenities/structures.
  • Organizing user groups to identify the community’s unmet recreational needs.
  • Applying for grants to support the Foundation’s capital projects and, as needed, right-of-way leases.
  • Identifying partnerships between surrounding cities and park districts.
  • Publishing articles to generate public support for parks and to educate the general public on the state of parks and recreation.
  • Sponsoring/organizing park support events, including trash pickup events.
