Casino Night

Come join us for our Casino Night fundraiser! We are looking for volunteers to help with registration and walking around the event socializing and spreading the word about all the different raffle prizes, mystery bags, and more!

Volunteers will receive free food/drinks. Unfortunately we are not able to provide for parking; public transportation is strongly encouraged. Must be 21+ to volunteer.

Volunteers are also required to attend a training session before the event--likely the first week of October--where we will meet briefly to discuss the event's tasks (while enjoying pizza!).

Must be comfortable working with money and talking to guests. There will be plenty of time for you to enjoy the event (and the city view) as well.

Any time commitment is welcome. You are not required to stay the entire night. Please let me know your availability when responding.

Mission Statement

Reach Out Community Center works with youth from the ages of 6-17. Reach Out strives to help community youth reach their fullest potential through a variety of educational and recreational programs that will help them accomplish their educational and personal goals. While respecting the uniqueness of each individual child, we seek to provide a safe and enriching environment in which the youth can freely express themselves, accept themselves, and learn the tools necessary to acquire new life skills.

Description

Reach Out will be an integral part of the South Lawndale and Little Village communities, located on the border of these two neighborhoods on the west side of Chicago. Both neighborhoods are vibrant and their culture diverse. Little Village is now predominantly a Hispanic community and South Lawndale is predominantly an African-American community. In order to help the children of the Reach Out Community Center reach their highest potential, our programs will be geared towards providing opportunities to develop new skills and experiences. Reach Out will bring programs to the youth that they may not otherwise have access to, allowing them to learn a skill 180 degrees--in other words, learn all aspects of that particular life skill.
