With over 33,000 acres of open space, 23 parks, 3 harbors and 7 miles of beach, we need need men and wormen who are willing to use their skills and experience to protect and preserve Orange County's rich natural and cultural resources. Duties may be associated with park operation, resource management, park safety, interpretation, public awareness and emergency services. Reserves participate in equestrian and bike patrol teams, direct traffic at busy intersections, conduct environmental awareness programs for school children, assist with special events, build and maintain park trails and assist with special studies that focus on park resources.
Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and hold a high school or college degree. Applicants must successfully pass the requirements of the Park Ranger Academy and meet the requirements of Gov. code 1031. Reserves must provide a minimum of 18 hours of service per month for 1 to 2 years.
