CIEE, a nonprofit educational exchange organization, is seeking welcoming families in the Rochester, NY area to host international students for the upcoming school year. Our students represent over 60 nationalities, and come to the U.S. for 5 or 10 months to study at American high schools, live with local families, and experience life as American teenagers!
Students arrive with insurance, spending money, and tested English language skills. Families that host our students come in all shapes and sizes, all that we is that you provide a bed (student can share a room with a child of same gender and within 4 years of age), share 3 meals a day, and accept him or her into your home as one of your own! A CIEE Local Coordinator expertly matches your family with a student based on your lifestyle and preferences, and we provide local and professional support, 24/7, for the duration of the program.
You can make a young student’s dream come true while bringing the world to your doorstep!
If you are unable to host, please note that we offer a $100 referral fee for any family you refer to us that ends up hosting! To learn more about our program and this wonderful opportunity, visit https://www.ciee.org/highschool/host-family-referral/.

Mission Statement
To help people gain understanding, acquire knowledge and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world.
Description
For nearly 20 years, CIEE: Council on International Educational Exchange has been offering high school students from around the world the opportunity to live and study in the United States. CIEE USA High School has grown from a handful of participants when the program was founded in 1995, to more than 1,600 students, representing 55 countries. We place them with caring, nurturing families in communities from coast to coast, where they attend one of more than 1,000 partner schools.
We firmly believe that a 21st century education should include cultural exchange. Participating in exchange, whether a student or a host, exposes people to new viewpoints, breaking down barriers and increasing understanding. These are the building blocks of a better world.
Today, CIEE is the global leader in international education and cultural exchange, and CIEE USA High School is just one of our many programs. More than 300,000 people proudly call themselves CIEE alumni. We give students from high school through college the chance to study abroad, send English teachers around the world, welcome students to the United States for school and work, and support educators as they work to globalize their institutions from classroom to curriculum.
