Volunteers are needed to provide transportation for essential needs to ambulatory older adults living in Mecklenburg County who can no longer drive. Essential needs are defined as medical (doctor, dentist, pharmacy, therapy, etc.), bank, grocery store or food bank, and other errands. Volunteers will use their own car and are offered mileage reimbursement. Volunteers can specify available days & times, and which zip codes they are willing to go to. This is a great opportunity to fill a need for a older adults lacking support from family and friends.

Located in and serving members of Mecklenburg County, Shepherd’s Charlotte continues to offer a variety of programs and services, ranging from social activities to transportation to Medicare consulting.
