JA: Teach JA's Economics for Success Program with 8th Grade students at Barberton Middle School

Build a stronger community by educating local students about work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship!
Using lesson plans and materials provided by Junior Achievement, volunteers will work, in partnership with 8th grade teachers, to lead lessons included in JA's Economics for Success Program. This program has a focus on teaching middle school students about personal finances.
We will teach the entire JA program in a one day setting on May 18th with each volunteer or team of volunteers teaching one JA lesson multilple times throughout the morning.
JA volunteers can be community members, business associates, retirees, college students and/or parents,
Training will be provided. Individual and group opportunities are available.

JA volunteers need to enjoy interacting with young people and feel comfortable in speaking in front of a group of students. Volunteers must provide their own transportation. A JA program kit including lesson plans and all materials needed will be provided during the volunteer training meeting.

Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio is educating students throughout Ashland, Carroll, Coshocton, Crawford, Knox, Marion, Medina, Morrow, Portage, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas, Richland, Wayne and Wyandot counties.Through a dedicated volunteer network, JA provides programs for students in grades K-12 educating them about:
Entrepreneurship Workforce Readiness Financial Literacy
JA programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action, and learn the value of contributing to their communities.
