Mission Statement

After the Dust Settles is a nonprofit organization promoting and providing therapeutic programs for widow/ widowers and parents who have loss a child. Immediately, following the death of a spouse or child there are several outlets of support available to the surviving family members. Prepared meals, monetary gifts, babysitters, emotional support, and transportation are just a few of the services provided by loved ones. After the funeral/ memorial service the support slowly dwindles. The widow(er) or parent is still grieving and expected to go on with life. This program will form partnerships with local religious groups, schools, hospitals, hospice, and funeral homes to assist the widow or parent during the time of transition. Only through group counseling and individual therapy can a surviving spouse or parent deal with the grieving loss. The next step is to reintroduce the survivor into society.

Description

After the Dust Settles organization will not only offer therapeutic services but job placing and training services, housing retention, encourage higher education, private school funding for surviving minor children, and insurance assistance.
