Lift Spirits of Wounded and Seriously Ill Veterans through Operation Healing Angel of Homefront Hugs Foundation

  • Comfort and therapeutic items for patients who are dying or have serious illnesses or wounds ( the goal is to help our veterans not feel forgotten and have some much needed and earned dignity)
We must raise $ for items which include blankets ,pajamas, music, board games, soft bathrobes and lap blankets, cozy warm scarves, books in large print, letters ,etc and we have a specific list we can provide if you would rather donate or gather items needed instead of donating funds . Email us for the list and let us know what you wish to do . We are always in need of art and letters for our veterans and their hero medical staff caring for them.

  • adopt one of our hospitals or isolated vets in need to send monthly items to for 6-12 months and become an Operation Healing Angel volunteer ...alone ,as a group or business - items can be letters, cards or more substantial depending on what you can and wish to do . Anything helps. Our support is also for our hero medical staff overseas or here stateside when you help with Operation Healing Angel .
  • Help make decorations for their walls and rooms in and out of hospital to lift spirits to include Operation Pillow Hugs
  • or help us share and spread the need as we need volunteers able to blog or post on whatever social media platforms you like - or share within your community .
Join us and help us make sure no hero is forgotten it feels alone when undergoing treatment of any kind in a VA hospital, lift spirits of any healing hero ...we have vetted these needs and you can email us with any questions ...we must raise these funds and acquire the items so our veterans can manage their healing and pain in the best most comforting way possible . Google Operation Healing Angel- and share this amazing mission with others especially students and seniors of all abilities who want to make a real difference anytime of year. This is a great project for a class, family or student needing volunteer hours but we also believe businesses would enjoy this as well as a holiday project or midyear philanthropy. Giving back is part of self-care and developing our own values and character, and even prolongs our life! It’s a win-win!

Description

At Homefront Hugs, our missions include helping our wounded & seriously ill vets, adopting deployed troops, helping kids and teens give back in ways they choose, crisis intervention addressing our national mental health crisis, and disaster relief.
We need volunteers to write cards and send needs to our wounded & sick veterans in hospitals, to help homeless & isolated vets, and so much more.
Teenagers and college students can start their own Homefront Hugs volunteer clubs nationwide giving back to their communities and helping reach out to one another to stay safe on and offline.
We value every volunteer, whatever your age or ability, every veteran from every walk of life.
Monetary donations are needed to mail care packages to our wounded and deployed,for stewardship programs, disaster relief, suicide prevention, and focusing on our mental health crisis affecting all ages.
Giving back to our country and our communities in thanks for our freedoms is what Homefront Hugs is all about with many teenagers developing their own projects making a real difference and part of their own self-care.

Projects include helping citizens vote, lifting spirits of children with cancer, the Humane Society, developing apps to improve inclusion & diversity, staying safe especially with AI, visiting isolated veterans, and much more. Our volunteers are the reason we shine!
