As a volunteer transport coordinator you will establish relationships with other transport volunteers and will interact daily with them and/or other rescue teams, volunteers, fosters and adopters. You will ensure to the best of your ability, the safety and timely arrival in the movement of all animals, and must have a basic knowledge of how best to accomplish this within our established protocols and timelines.

* The ability to communicate clearly with others.

* A basic understanding and ability to use Google spreadsheets.

* You will be expected to determine best routes for local transport movements, and to determine transport 'legs' and meet places to exchange between transporters. While this does not require that you know any specific area, you must be able and have the ability to understand Google maps or other research tools to assist you when you needed.

*Time, commitment, and personal accountability are a must! Transport does not take a break. Transport has a regular need even during holidays, weekends, during the day and sometimes emergencies may occur in middle of night (rare). If you wish to become more actively involved with Rescue Dogs Rock NYC and volunteer as a Transport Coordinator, please fill out a volunteer application: https://rescuedogsrocknyc.org/volunteer-application/

Mission Statement

Rescue Dogs Rock is a not for profit animal rescue founded in 2015. We exist solely on donations and will rely primarily on fundraising to help animals in need. Our mission is to raise awareness of the ever growing plight of homeless animals in this country, both in shelters and those dumped on our streets. Way too many amazing animals are euthanized every single day simply because they are homeless. We want to introduce these animals to the public and educate people that unwanted companion animals are not damaged goods or unworthy, but really can be great family pets. Because the abuse, neglect, cruelty and medical cases cost shelters the most money and are the most urgent, they are often the first animals euthanized.

We are a group of volunteers with a desire to help save all animals. We believe with the proper love and care any dog or puppy can grow into their potential of being a beloved family pet.

We adopt pets in the following states: Maine, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia.

Please look through our adoptable pets or just fill out an application to find your new best friend.

Rescue Dogs Rock is always in need of volunteer help. Some areas we need help with include:

  • Process Applications
  • Transport
  • Administrative
