ORGANIZATION: Minneapolis Adult Education

Lead a group of 4 or 5 ESL advanced students, using lessons provided by the teacher. You would read a passage, listen to students read, and help them progress. Training is provided.

Volunteer once a week (or more). The schedule options are:
-T &/or Th 9:30-10:30 am, 12:45-1:30 pm
-M or T evening. Various time periods are available between 6:15 and 8:50.

Help adults acquire the skills, and provide the support, to pursue education and employment goals.

Description

Minneapolis Adult Education provides free classes in ESL, reading, writing, math, basic computer skills, and transition to work and college. Classes are available in the morning, afternoon, and evening. We are part of Minneapolis Community Education, Minneapolis Public Schools.

Volunteers participate once an week, for an hour or more depending on the class. We ask for a commitment of 3 months. Service learning has a different minimum.
