Our food bank has the potential to serve upwards of 100+ families every week. These are families that are receiving some sort of housing services from the YWCA. We have shelters, transitional housing, and permanent housing available to those in need, and we are one of just a few facilities in King County that allow the men to stay with their family.

Each Wednesday we rely on donations from our community to open our doors to our clients, allowing them to have access to food. Sometimes it's their only opportunity, and others are just making ends meet between food stamps.

In being a food drive host you gather a group, either in your office, neighborhood, or local store (with management permission) and select a time frame that works for you to collect food. That can be a one to two week period, but we do ask that it end on a Tuesday so that we may collect it, by either a delivery or pick up so it can be used in our food bank on Wednesdays.

The mission of the YWCA of Seattle * King County * Snohomish County is to advance the quality of life for women of all ages, races, and faiths, and their families. In support of this mission, the YWCA provides services to meet critical needs, promote self-sufficiency, reduce violence, and achieve equal opportunities for all people.

We believe that, working together, we can create a community where:

* All women and families have a safe, stable place to live.

* All adults have the opportunity to earn a livable wage and achieve self-sufficiency.

* All children and youth can develop the skills they need to succeed in life.

* All people can live in dignity free from violence, racism and discrimination
