The YWCA of Seattle is looking for volunteers or groups to host a pancake breakfast for 25 people at the Willows for the Young Parent Program. The mission of the young parent program is to give young parents wrap around support and services so that when they take the next step they have the tools to be self-sufficient.
The young parent program assists homeless young parents between the ages of 15-20 years old. We help further their education and gain employment by working with an employment/education specialist. Residing in a YWCA extended shelter or transitional housing we work with them on finding permanent housing: subsidized, section 8, low income housing or full market rate. We are also working on credit repair, parenting, cleaning skills and other life skills that help them maintain permanent housing once achieved.
We are looking to have these breakfasts every month so there are plenty of opportunities to host!
