AFSP Out of the Darkness Walk

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - Western PA chapter is looking for volunteers to work with us in educating the public and preventing suicide in all populations.

Our mission is to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.

AFSP engages with families, mental health professionals, community and local business leaders, school administrators and others interested in preventing suicide.

We need ongoing volunteers to assist in the Out of The Darkness Walk, prevention events and education events. We meet at the Carnegie Library on the South side approximately every 6 weeks to plan and execute our programs. We are not a support group organization. We focus on education and prevention.

The first step in volunteering is to e mail afsp.westernpavolunteer@gmail.com and expressing your interest in working with us. Even a few hours a month can really help us execute more programs in the Western PA area.

Single day volunteer opportunities are available with our community walks, campus walks and surivors of suicide loss day.
