Street Child is a global nonprofit which ensures that children living in extreme poverty can access an education. The US fundraising branch is a year old and needs a bit of help with community fundraising.
Specifically, we are looking for a volunteer to source high end raffle and auction prizes for us from the local Berkeley / East Bay community, for a fundraising event in December.
The ideal candidate will be outgoing and dynamic, and have no problem making cold phone calls to high end businesses to ask for free stuff!
We need someone who can start immediately, either working with us or from home, and who will be able to demonstrate quick results. This won't take a huge time commitment - depending on how quickly you work, possibly 2 hours a day of researching and calls.
This is not a good opportunity for someone shy, or who needs a lot of hand holding; you need to hit the ground running.
For the right candidate, this could be an ongoing opportunity. We can also provide references etc depending on your needs.

Mission Statement
Street Child provides the world's poorest children with sustainable access to a quality education.
Description
121 million children around the world cannot go to school. We're working to change that.
121 million children are not being given the chance to go to school. Millions more are in school but failing to learn. From building schools and training teachers, to connecting orphaned or abandoned children with families, and offering people the chance to generate their own income, our sustainable, holistic model is all about giving the world's poorest children a chance.
Street Child started in Sierra Leone in 2008 working with a small number of street children. Since then we have helped over 120,000 children to go to school and enabled 22,000 families to generate sustainable incomes so that their children can stay in education. During the Ebola crisis, Street Child helped over 20,000 Ebola orphans, providing emergency support and connecting them with families. Today, Street Child works in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Nigeria, Uganda, Nepal, and Sri Lanka with a current emphasis on education in emergencies and girls' education.
