The Community Engagement Assistant will play an essential role in making sure all community contacts of the Department are updated, correct, and maintained. The Assistant may also play a role in securing new community contacts for the Department on an as needed basis.
The primary function of this position will be to create, update, and maintain a spreadsheet of information for the Department’s community contacts. This includes businesses, organizations, etc. The volunteer will be responsible for locating updated contact information, confirming updated information, and recording updated information in the designated spreadsheet or database.
Volunteers assigned to be Community Engagement Assistants will need to be good communicators. Moderate research skills are also required to be successful in this position. Experience with databases and spreadsheets is also helpful.
This position can be completed either in office or remotely. However, if the volunteer wishes to complete the assignments virtually, the volunteer must have access to a computer and internet connection.
Volunteers will need to complete required Florida Department of Health - Lake training. Volunteers will also be trained on various department programs and services and the benefits they provide to the overall community. Development of research and communication skills will also be provided as necessary.
