Each week, the Friends of the Public Library receives 10,000-12,000 items (books, vinyl, DVDs, etc) from both private donations and discards from the Public Library’s vast collection. We, in turn, sell these items through our warehouse/used book store, Friends’ Shop, online, and special sales throughout the year to raise money for special programs and unique purchases at the Library.

We are in need of a volunteer Personal Shopper. This volunteer will search the large collection in our store to fill phone and email requests for items that we receive from the community.

Are you a good fit for this volunteer position? We’re looking for volunteers 18 years and older who are book lovers and are passionate about the programs and services offered through the Public Library of Cincinnati andHamiltonCounty. Our ideal fit possesses: an ability to work independently and in a team environment, good customer service skills, excellent organizational skills and ability, follow up, and good communication skills.

When? Volunteers are needed Monday-Thursday, 8am-3pm. Weekly 2-3 hour commitment most needed, but we will work with volunteer schedules on an individual basis.
