Description: Seeking recent college graduates interested in healthcare to help our small rural hospital to develop policies, procedures, and tactics to achieve Accountable Care Organization (ACO) designation. The VISTA will help identify and implement outreach activities to improve the health and well-being of the people we serve.

AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) taps the skills, talents, and passion of more than 8,000 Americans annually to support community efforts to overcome poverty. The program’s nationwide corps of VISTAs commits to full-time for a year at a nonprofit organization or local government agency to build the capacity of these organizations to carry program that tackle poverty.

PMH is located in Buckeye, West Virginia in Pocahontas County. Pocahontas County is known as "Nature’s Mountain Playground" and offers opportunities for hiking, skiing, kayaking, biking, and fishing. PMH is a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, Level IV Trauma Center, and Rural Health Clinic.

Description
Marlinton Hospital and Infirmary was first established by the County Court in 1926. It became known as Pocahontas Memorial Hospital as a tribute to the men and women who served in the military from Pocahontas County. After nearly seventy years, the hospital was moved to Buckeye in October 1995. PMH is now a 25 bed critical access hospital with a federally designated Rural Health Clinic and a Level IV Trauma Center. Through our mission, standards, and principles, Pocahontas Memorial Hospital is "Where Your Health is Our Priority."
