Do good for your community while using your professional expertise. Work with talented peers on a rewarding non-profit cause related program. The Rare Genomics Institute is making a difference. RG is a nonprofit organization that helps families in need of genome research.

Responsibilities include

  • Develop and write grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations, persuasively communicating RG’s mission and programs to potential funders

  • Assemble and submit grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations

  • Maintain calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and reports

  • Identify, define, and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities

  • Prioritize projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner and meet deadlines

  • Must be able to attend team meetings every other Thursday at 8pm EST

  • Must have an interest or background in science and technology

Desired skills and experience:

  • Masters Degree in relevant field

  • 3+ years professional experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • 5-10 hour commitment each week (required)

  • Solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants

  • Work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, self-starter environment
