Mission Statement
Franklin Township is a rural township with 29,000 residents. We are dedicated to giving our residents great service while preserving our rural atmosphere.
Description
We're a big township with a small budget. Twenty-nine thousand residents, 33 square miles of land, 53 miles of roadway, a road department, a volunteer fire department, a part time EMS service, a cemetery and two parks are operated on 2.5 million dollars a year. To those that aren't familiar with government accounting or budgets that may seem like a lot. However, it is not. We are constantly seeking new ways to increase revenue, applying for grants and holding our hand out. We rely heavily on grant funds to even be able to provide our firemen with fire protection gear that will keep them safe. There is no money left for festivals, parades, or flashy signs.
