I am looking for companionship volunteers to visit with our patients in the Reynoldsburg/Pickerington area. You may visit patients in their homes or in Assited Living and/or Skilled nursing facilities. Presence is important to a lot of our patients. A listening ear or a hand to hold. The majority of our patients are elderly and do not have a lot of family or friends who visit them. If you have a heart for being company for someone please contact me.

I am also interested in volunteers who are certifide in any of the following:

Pet Therapy

Massage Therapy

Reiki or other energy work

Art Therapy

or anyone with musical talent that would want to share their talent with residents/patients in the Assited Living and Skilled Nursing and/or occassionally music at the bedside or one of our home patients.

Mission Statement

The mission of Harbor Light Hospice is to facilitate access to dignified end-of-life care and quality services that allow our patients and families the hospice option to live life richly, deeply, and meaningfully for as long as it lasts.

Description

Our Commitment To Care

Harbor Light Hospice is committed to providing the highest quality of care possible by employing a team of healthcare professionals and volunteers to administer palliative and supportive care. The hospice team works to meet the medical (physical), emotional, spiritual, social, and practical needs of patients, family members, and friends when a life-limiting illness clouds the future. Hospice is unique in the healthcare system with its extended "unit of care".

The Work of Hospice

Harbor Light Hospice provides its array of services through a team of professionals and volunteers who are physician directed and nurse coordinated. Hospice works because the team works with a patient, their family and caregivers, and the patient's physician to develop a Plan of Treatment and an Interdisciplinary Plan of Care that coordinates the delivery of that care from the medicine, supplies and equipment to the Nurse, Nursing Assistant, Social Worker, Chaplain, and Volunteer visits.
