Central Visitation Program provides supervised parenting time opportunities when it is court-ordered or a parenting plan is in place. Our program ensures that children have a safe place to spend time with one of their parents - time to eat together, laugh together and play together. Our parenting time supervisors ensure that children have this chance.

Volunteers must also submit to a CBI background check and a Central Registry Check. We ask that volunteers commit to at least 6 months. Most of our volunteers have been with the program for several years. Hours are available from 9:00AM-4:30PM on Saturdays and Sundays.

We are located in the pre-school building associated with First Presbyterian Church of Brighton.

Mission Statement

Central Visitation Program's mission is to provide a safe, supervised and comfortable setting for court ordered visits between children and parents of low-ncome families involved in high conflict divorce, custody and/or restraining order proceedings.

Description

Do you love children and want to keep them safe?
At CVP children and parents come together for an hour to play, chat or just be together. We believe that it is better to provide a place where children can feel protected and safe than to simply stop all contact with a parent. We have witnessed children having a good time with a parent who may have made very poor choices in his/her life. The children do seem to enjoy seeing this parent as long as they feel safe. CVP provides a supervisor who is in the room at all times and able to see and hear what is going on. This supervisor can and will intervene if there is a precieved danger, or the child(ren) seem to be in distress.
