Want to make a difference in a child's life today? You can become a hero for the child because in the child's eyes you let them see their mother or father! Without our volunteers, child would be unable to see their mother or father.
At CVP we use well-trained community volunteers to supervise the parenting time between children and parents. A supervisor keeps the child(ren) safe, plays with the child(ren) before and after the parenting time, writes down observations of parenting time, and interacts in the parenting time only if the child is in distress or unsafe. Parenting time is on Saturdays and Sundays during the day. Volunteers are trained in about 8 hours and then sit in on one or more parenting times with another supervisor. Volunteers must also submit to a CBI background check and a Central Registry Check. We ask that volunteers commit to at least 6 months. Most of our volunteers have been with the program for several years.
We are located in the pre-school building associated with First Presbyterian Church of Brighton.
