This position is an ongoing project of setting up Windows devices donated/returned in our Assistive Technology Loan locker, in order to go out to people diagnosed with ALS in need. The systems primary purpose is for speech generation for people living with ALS that have lost ability to speak but is often used for just gain access to a computer. Must be comfortable navigating a windows environment and willing to learn and troubleshoot unfamiliar software and hardware peripherals. Will work directly under the direction of the Assistive Technology Specialist. Prefer to have this as an ongoing volunteer position. Helping our Chapter out will make a positive impact of those battling with ALS aka Lou Gehrig’s disease.

The ALS Association Evergreen Chapter offers comprehensive support for persons diagnosed with ALS, their families and caregivers cope with the day to day challenges of living with ALS by providing information, resources, and referrals to many sources.
Our Chapter's goal is to offer hope and support in all areas we serve - Washington, Idaho, Montana & Alaska.
