ORGANIZATION: Rabbit Rescue, Inc.

Arlie the bunny

Do you speak Spanish and English? Do you love animals? This is the opportunity for you! Read on!

Rabbit Rescue is committed to finding good, forever homes for rabbits who have no home. A screening and adoption process is in place to make sure that the adoption and subsequent lifetime relationship will be positive for both the rabbit and their adoptive family. We often get interest from people who are native Spanish speakers who want to adopt a rabbit for their family.

We are looking for someone who is very conversant in both Spanish and English to help us do adoptions of rabbits as pets into new homes.

When we get a request to adopt a rabbit from someone who does not speak English well, we need someone who understands our adoption screening criteria to have a conversation with the applicant and evaluate whether having a rabbit would work well for both adopter and bunny. You would be trained in the screening criteria and mentored to help you become an expert at this process.

You would also meet the adopters at a local PetCo store to do the adoption process, collect an adoption fee, and help the adopters purchase the equipment and supplies they will need for the rabbit.

This opportunity would be on an as-needed basis, but could be expanded by you if you wish:

Our greatest need is to have this translation available at adoption time, but you would be welcomed and encouraged to help with rabbit visits, events and other activities with Rabbit Rescue if you like. Every visit or event is an opportunity to educate the public about pet rabbits. Having someone present who speaks Spanish gives us more power for outreach and education.

Mission Statement

To rescue homeless and neglected rabbits and find them loving homes.

Description

Rabbit Rescue, Inc. was established in 1995 in Downey, California. We are a non-profit/501c(3), no-kill shelter staffed and run entirely by volunteers. We rely on public donations and monies made by our on-line store rabbitshop.com to stay operational. 100% of ALL monies earned go directly to our bunnies, to pay for hay, pellets, fresh greens, housing, spay/neuter, medical treatment, drugs & medical supplies, toys and other environmental enrichments. Most of our rabbits come from local shelters where they're slated for euthanasia. All of our rabbits come from unfortunate circumstances ranging from simple neglect or abandonment to outright abuse. Many require both emotional and physical rehabilitation, and we keep our number of rabbits low to ensure each of them the optimum in medical care and individual attention. The end result is a happy, healthy bunny...litterbox trained, socialized, and ready to be a loved and loving member of your family. Rabbit Rescue, Inc. has rescued over 300 rabbits in the past 7 years. If you would like to assist us in our efforts to save rabbit lives, we welcome volunteers and/or tax-deductible donations.
