This is not an individual volunteer opportunity.

We are seeking the help from volunteer groups (groups only) to assist us with sorting and disposing of medical products and expired medications. This project will greatly assist us. It will allow us to have more storage space for other wares and projects! Aprons and gloves will be provided.

Volunteer Shifts Available: 3 hour minimum

  • 3 hours between (9:00am - 4:00pm)
  • 5 hours between (9:00am - 4:00pm)
  • 7 hours - Full day - between (9:00am - 4:00pm)

Requirements: GROUPS ONLY

  • Minimum participants required 7 max 20.
  • Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and to participate.
  • Volunteers under the age of 18 will require adult chaperones with them at all times.
  • No certifications required.

Mission Statement

St. Mary's Dining Room responds to poverty in San Joaquin County be feeding the hungry, caring for health issues and restoring human dignity to over 700 individuals each day.

Description

St. Mary’s Dining Room provides the following free caring services to the community. Our ability to provide this care is made possible through the generosity of our community. It is because of their financial support, volunteerism and their donation of in-kind supplies that we can provide hope to all that visit our campus each day. We are grateful to be voted 2020 Best of San Joaquin Non-Profit. (We are located a block from the Stockton DMV)

Our DINING ROOM is open 7 days a week. Each morning we serve a hot breakfast, followed by a hot lunch and dinner.

Our CLOTHING & HYGIENE CENTER is open 6 days a week. We provide access to hot showers, hygiene products, haircuts and seasonal clothing to our guests.

Our MEDICAL CLINIC treats those who are uninsured through the help of volunteer professionals. Eye exams are also performed and prescription glasses are provided.

Our DENTAL CLINIC treats those who are uninsured. Dentists provide needed dental care and education to our guests. Dentures are also provided.

Our SOCIAL SERVICES center allows staff and volunteers to provide case management for guests by assisting with completing applications for various benefit programs. Guests are provided with advocacy and referrals for securing emergency shelter, transitional housing, and employment.

Our SENIOR CENTER allows us to support our senior guests (55+) to come to relax, read the newspaper, make friends, participate in activities with our volunteers and other seniors.
