The AARP Foundation Office in uptown Denver is seeking dedicated volunteers to reaches out to at-risk older adults across the country to provide valuable information on avoiding investment scams and other financial frauds. Volunteers make public service phone calls to older adults to provide brief but vital information on protecting themselves from fraud and identity theft.
If you are interested in being educated on the latest scams and making a difference in the lives of others who have become or could become a victim to a scam or identity theft, this opportunity is for you!
- Place outbound phone calls to individuals with professionalism and respect
- Brief documentation required to track the outcome of each call
- Make appropriate referrals and/or confer with staff for assistance
- Outgoing personality and enjoyment in talking with individuals
- Ability to listen and communicate effectively with others
- Comfortable using telephones
- Ability to document call outcomes clearly and concisely
Call Center volunteers must acquire a working knowledge of the telephone system and documentation procedures associated with the program. Volunteers will receive program training and coaching, and also have access to extensive research and reference materials.
We typically ask call center volunteers to commit to working at least one 3-hour shift weekly, for a 4 month period. However, we are flexible with scheduling volunteers who exhibit dedication to the program.
