Dare to be Great! Mentor with Winning Futures and help change the life of a young person.
It has never been so fun & easy to be a mentor. Winning Futures inspires and prepares young people to be self-reliant and successful through life skills, strategic planning, mentoring, and scholarship programs. Mentors meet with small groups of students during the school day to take part in fun, structured activities for one hour, one day per week. We make volunteering easy!
Pre-packaged activities led by our staff, training, and on-site support are provided.
Please note that we will have mentoring locations, days and timeslots available in Detroit, Harper Woods, Madison Heights, Pontiac, Sterling Heights and Warren.

Mission Statement
We help Metro Detroit students by providing the motivation, support, and skills needed to graduate from high school and become self-reliant adults.
Description
We help Metro Detroit students figure out what they’ll do after high school, then teach them the skills necessary for success. Career mentors are volunteers who coach our students as they navigate through the program. Sessions are held at a participating school, during regular school hours, and in a classroom with staff, teachers, students, and other career mentors present. Each session starts with a staff member who teaches a lesson. Then career mentors participate with students in a fun and structured activity that reinforces the lesson. Topics include career exploration, job and life skills development, academic and career planning, and goal setting. Sessions are held two or three times a month from November through May. Career mentors receive training before the program year starts and support before and during every session. 90 percent of our students are people of color. Participating schools are in Detroit, Harper Woods, Warren, Sterling Heights, and Pontiac. Get more information or apply online at Winning Futures.org.
