Do you like books? Would you like to meet local authors? Are you interested in spending a Sunday afternoon volunteering at the Library? If the answer is YES, we have a very special opportunity for you.
The third annual Local Author Festival will be held on SUNDAY, AUGUST 27, in the Galleria at the Central Library at 828 I Street.
There will be more than 40 local authors showcasing their newly published tomes. The event's keynote speaker, Reyna Grande, will be speaking about her book The Distance Between Us, an eye-opening memoir about life before and after illegally immigrating to the United States from Mexico.
We're looking for 6 volunteers who should plan to arrive at the Central Library at 11:30 to help with set up and registration. The Festival is open to the public and runs from NOON to 3:00 p.m. During the course of the event, volunteers will assist the authors and at 3:00 will help with clean up.
Please plan to be a part of this very popular and enlightening event.
