Become a Stream Steward (volunteer water quality monitor) with the King Conservation District!

Help your local community by volunteering monthly to test water quality parameters on Newaukum or Boise Creek in Enumclaw. Learn about water quality health, stream safety, E. coli testing, and habitat assessment.

Benefits of becoming a KCD Stream Steward include:

Receiving FREE training on budding environmental topics

  • Salmon identification
  • Knotweed removal
  • Well and septic care/maintenance
  • Bird identification

Learning how to test for

  • Water and Air Temperature
  • Turbidity
  • pH
  • Dissolved Oxygen
  • Nitrates
  • Fecal coliform bacteria
  • Qualitative stream observations

Conducting wildlife habitat assessments.

Presenting your findings to agency experts and your community.
