Kiwanis Camp Wa-Ri-Ki

Responsible for maintaining websites. Ensure sites are functioning properly and are available to users. Tests speed of access and improves upon loading speed.

Primary responsibilities
  • Maintain websites for clients and businesses.
  • Ensure the web servers, hardware and software are operating accurately.
  • Design websites.
  • Generate and revise web pages.
  • Examine and analyze site traffic.
  • Utilize scripting languages such as Javascript.
  • Configure web servers such as Apache.
  • Serve as the server administrator.
  • Regulate and manage access rights of different users on website.
  • Create and modify appearance and setting of site.
  • Lay out content on web pages.
  • Deal with and respond to heavy volumes of email.
  • Decide what kind of computer will hold a web site's information.
  • Test websites to see if there are any parts that are difficult to use.
  • Meet with designers to agree on site's design.
  • Fix links that don't work and pictures that aren't appearing properly.
  • Decide how site's content will be delivered to the Internet.
  • Keep files small so sites load faster.
  • Test different browsers and ensure people with different computers can access a website.

Our non-profit is committed to providing an outdoor experience that offers optimal child development and community growth through recreational, educational and leadership opportunities.

Description

Kiwanis Camp Wa-Ri-Ki is a natural forested environment for educational and physical recreational programs for children, families, community and church groups. The camp is located on 20+ acres nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains along the scenic Washougal River.

Our Vision: To provide an environment for introspect, growth and adventure for children, families and community organizations to become better stewards of the earth.

The camp is sponsored by Division 44 Kiwanis and other volunteers. It is available for rental by individuals and community groups of all kinds, though first priority is given to organizations with at risk children.

The camp is complete with a commercial kitchen, dining hall, dorms, gym, stages, a meeting hall, a craft shop, and so much more. It is located in a beautiful natural setting next to the Washougal River, close to a National Forest and Department of Natural Resource properties that can be accessed from the camp.
