The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
Petco has been so generous to give us catteries where cats in each cattery live full-time while waiting for their forever homes.
Our group, OC Small Paws, is in need of an ADOPTION EVENT volunteers to help with adoptions on Saturdays at Petco Westminster. We currently hold adoptions at this location from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm. We are asking for volunteers with at least SOME cat experience, is responsible, is willing to commit to 2-3 weekends per month at MINIMUM, and is comfortable approaching new adopters and providing them with information on our cats and the adoption process. Their is an adoption events manager on site every weekend and you would be assisting her. Volunteers are also asked to help with tearing down equipment after the adoption event.
Volunteers under 18 are OK, but we will not train temporary student volunteers strictly to help them complete hours for school. We ask that you choose to be committed to helping with adoptions for a minimum of six months.
