Have you ever cheered up a friend with a short visit? Do you enjoy small talk or listening to great life stories? Then being a Facility Ambassador Volunteer may be the right fit for you.

We are looking for a caring person who would like to brighten someone’s day by stopping by their room once or twice a month. Visit with one or more hospice patients at the same facility.

Training will be provided by Heritage at no cost. Volunteers will be set up for success in advance of visits.

Description

Heritage Hospice is a family-founded hospice that takes pride in providing our patients with comfort, dignity and peace either in the comfort of their own home or in a skilled facility of their choice.

Hospice care treats the whole person's physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs in the last phase of life. These services may be provided at home, in an inpatient facility, nursing home or in another setting that best suits the needs of the patient and caregivers. Hospice care helps the person to live at home or in the most comfortable setting as long as possible, stay as active as possible, express and accept feelings, assists the family to care for their loved one, manage practical tasks, deal with stress, provide support and feel at peace.
